Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu - This Shit Is Still Really Funny
Caught up on this series tonight and I must reiterate, this show’s gold. It employs every anime cliche I despise from harems to cross-dressing to yanderes to cute-girls-who-are-bad-at-cooking to big-breasted incestuous older sisters, but it undermines them all with sheer retardedness and a dry comic delivery. Unfortunately the romance is all bogus since it’s undermined the same way, as much as I want to ship Yuuji and Shouko TT_TT But that’s a small price to pay, since I laugh out loud pretty much every episode at the protagonist’s attempts to survive on salad oil and salt water and the overdramatic deaths of “Mussolini” the class perv.
See above - anime cliche no. 352, cute girl comes into her childhood friend’s house to wake him up with breakfast in bed. Cue soft morning light and mood music. And this deadpan scene:
Shouko: Good morning, Yuuji. The weather is beautiful today. Would you like some breakfast?
Yuuji: Shouko. Can you pass me my cellphone?
*dials 911*
Yuuji: Hello, is this the police?
